We opened a PMR with IBM regarding this problem. There was no solution offered because we use company customized mail file templates and not the standard. A work around proposed to be carried out by creating a new empty mail file on server and copy all documents with folders in-there using this script http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21110903 ended up with having ~90-94 % loss of documents in the target file.
Finally I decided to create new copies from my mail file and archive, assign to them the standard StdR853Mail template and let run on a "convert -u" on them. This preserved all the documents. Then replace the existing production replicas on mail server (and his cluster partner) as well as on the archive server with these new copies.
The error message didn't completely disappear but appears a lot more seldom after creating a new folder or a personal view or changing ACL. Then when I remove the database icon from workspace and I reopen it by link or directly form server it allows me again to work with it without this error.
